Warning: Picture Intensive Post.
Being the 1st of May, it's Labour Day, also called International Workers' Day. For most, it's a public holiday, where we're able to take a break from the constant struggles of life, and maybe relax or go out and have some fun. As for those who doesn't.... well hope you'll get an off from work soon too. There's some people out there who says that Labour Day is of importance, to remember those who has fought for worker's rights, to hold demonstrations to fight for even more rights etc. To me, I'm just happy for a holiday (yay no camp!).

So.... what was I up to on a day when there's nothing to do? Remember my post on my bicycle? Well, I used this day to do more work on the bicycle: taking it apart even more, trying to strip/sand off the paint to make the surface smooth, cleaning up the gears, removing the rust, breaking the gear's chain, scratching head on how to put them all back eventually etc. Right now, all I'm hoping for is to get the bike up and running before 18th May, so I can cycle around Sentosa (going for 3D2N, family outing), and also for some Runway cycling event on 25th May. My safest bet I'll say, I'll need about 3-5 more days to finish up the bicycle, including repainting, deco etc.
Besides the work done on the bicycle, I also visited a lesser known park (or at least to my knowledge) in SG, Sembawang Park. The location is abit far-off the main roads, but to my surprised there's alot of people at this park (or maybe because it's a PUBLIC holiday). It also has a nice view of the greenery of our neighbour, Malaysia, a far contrast from the concrete jungle here.

On another note, being the 1st of May, I had a reminder from Gordon (well after reading his post) , that today also marks the Anniversary of the Crackdown on anime fans by Odex. Let us now have a moment of silence to honor those who had fallen to this outrage......................... done. Ever since their "defeat", we had not heard anything from them, and hopefully we'll never ever see them again.

as for the higher security there, it cos Sembawang Wharves is right beside Sembawang park....(Allied ships dock there)
calv: but I'm sure you're have other holidays we don't ><.
squee: for crabs? I was thinking prawns lol, but it does make sense too since crabs always at the bottom. According to my dad who does got there once a while, there wasn't those police "posts" before, so I had assumed was mainly for Mas Selamat. Maybe also they killing two birds with one stone with this arrangement.
